Mariners Call Up Pitcher

In response to Paul Sewald being placed on the injured list, the Seattle Mariners have called up Penn Murfee. 

This is a very exciting development for Murfee, as this will be his first time playing in the majors. Even if this ends up being a short-term call-up, it still is a big step in the right direction of his development. Yet, if he impresses the team from here, it could lead to him having more time with the big-league squad. 

It's fair to say that Murfee has earned this promotion when looking at how he has performed so far in 2022. With Triple-A Tacoma, he has a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA, and 10 strikeouts in eight innings pitched. This certainly has gotten the attention of the Mariners - hence the call-up. We will have to wait and see how much this solid play translates over to the majors.
