Longtime MLB Reliever Makes Diamondbacks Roster
Oliver Perez is set to play in his 20th major league season, as the Arizona Diamondbacks have selected his contract. Thus, he has successfully landed a spot on their roster after originally signing a minor league deal.
Perez appeared in only five contests with Cleveland last season, where he threw 3.2 innings. Overall, he put together a pretty solid four-year tenure with the team, as he had a 4-7 record and 2.57 ERA in 144 games. He will be aiming to carry over that success to Arizona during his second stint with the team.
Perez's immense amount of major league experience likely helped him land this job, too. In 696 career games between the San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, Diamondbacks, Houston Astros, Washington Nationals, and Cleveland, he has a 73-93 record and 4.34 ERA.
Nevertheless, congrats to Perez for making the Diamondbacks' roster!
