"I F***ing Hate This Place": Phillies’ Alec Bohm Trashes Philly Fans
If there's one fan base you don't want to get on the bad side of, it's the Philadelphia home crowd. Just ask Ben Simmons.
Monday night, Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm not only made three errors, but he also, while taking the inevitable abuse from the fans, was caught on the TV broadcast clearly saying "I f***ing hate this place".

“I f***** hate this place” during game
“I said it. Emotions got the best of me. Do I mean it? No. It’s a frustrating night for me. These fans, they just want to win. They’re great. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that” pic.twitter.com/YxjO2gqTIJ
“I said it. Emotions got the best of me," said Bohm. "Do I mean it? No. It’s a frustrating night for me. These fans, they just want to win. They’re great. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that.” You gotta feel for the kid.
The Phils did come back to win the game, and manager Joe Girardi stuck up for his young 3B. "I think it's a kid that was frustrated," Girardi said. "I don't think that kid was referring to, you know, the city of Philadelphia, the fans. I think he was referring to the situation he was in. Put yourself in his shoes."
Will Philly fans forgive and forget? Again, go ask Ben Simmons about that. But in the meantime, they are certainly having some fun with it.
Ben Simmons really changed this city. Now fans accept when people say they hate this place as long as they just tell us afterwards. 😂
