Houston Astros Release Pitcher

The Houston Astros have released Pedro Baez.

Baez was designated for assignment by the Astros earlier this week. Now that the veteran reliever has cleared waivers, it opened the door for Houston to officially part ways with him.

When looking at Baez's experience, there's reason to believe that another club could be willing to ink him to a minor league contract. In 362 career games between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, he has a 21-15 record, 3.08 ERA, and 376 strikeouts. Perhaps finding a new home could help him find the form he once had in LA.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what occurs with Baez from here.
