Dodgers Call Up Utility Player
The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled Zach McKinstry.
This news comes shortly after the team announced that pitcher Andrew Heaney has been placed on the 10-day injured list. Although they are losing a starter, the Dodgers have elected to call up a utility player in McKinstry.
McKinstry has made appearances with the Dodgers in each of the two previous seasons. During the 2021 campaign, he had seven home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .215 batting average in 60 games. With this call-up, he will be hoping to have more success when it comes to hitting for contact.
McKinstry can be utilized in several different scenarios. He can play in the outfield, second base, and third base, so don't be surprised to see him get into some game action during this call-up. Let's see how performs during his promotion.
