Cincinnati Reds Sign Pitcher
The Cincinnati Reds have signed Ross Detwiler to a minor league contract.
Detwiler will be aiming to get himself back into the majors with the Reds. During the 2021 season, he appeared in 53 games between the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres, where he had a 3-1 record and 4.64 ERA. Although those numbers aren't particularly impressive, it's important to note that he performed well in SD, as he sported a 2.75 ERA in 53 games.
Detwiler's high amount of overall experience could also help his chances of landing himself a call-up. In 277 career games between the Washington Nationals, Texas Ranger, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox, Marlins, and Padres, he has a 30-49 record and 4.56 ERA. It will be interesting to see if these numbers change at all in this campaign.
