Cincinnati Reds Sign Infielder

The Cincinnati Reds have signed Taylor Motter to a minor league contract.

Motter will begin his journey with the organization as a member of the Louisville Bats. Yet, when seeing as how the Reds already sport a disastrous 3-13 record this campaign, perhaps he could land himself a call-up later in the season.

Motter has some major league experience under his belt, so that also could help his chances, too. He appeared in 16 games last season between the Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox, where he had zero home runs, one RBI, and a .192 batting average. In 157 career games between the Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, Rockies, and Red Sox, he has 10 home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .191 batting average.

Alas, let's see if Motter can earn himself a promotion from here. At worst, he will simply provide the Reds with more depth.
