Chicago Cubs Sign Pitcher
The Chicago Cubs have signed Luke Farrell to a minor league contract.
Farrell has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last five seasons. Now, he will be aiming to change that to six this campaign with the Cubs. Farrell spent the 2021 season as a member of the Minnesota Twins. In 20 games with the team, he had a 1-1 record and 4.74 ERA.
With how quickly injuries occur in baseball, it certainly is not a bad idea for Chicago to give Farrell this minor league deal. At worst, he will offer them more pitching depth in the minor leagues. Yet, when looking at how he has a decent chunk of major league experience under his belt, a promotion later this season could be in order. We will have to wait and see if that comes to fruition.
