BREAKING: Guardians' Jose Ramirez Signs Contract Extension
Earlier this week, it was reported that extension talks between Jose Ramirez and the Cleveland Guardians have gone stagnant. Yet, that now has changed significantly, as Cleveland has signed their star to a five-year, $150 million extension.

With this move, the Guardians are keeping their best player around for a long time. The 29-year-old is once again coming off of a marvelous campaign, as he had 36 home runs, 103 RBIs, and a .266 batting. With these kinds of numbers, it makes a plethora of sense that the team wanted to have their three-time All-Star locked up for many more years to come. Now they have successfully done just that.
Ramirez has spent the entirety of his nine-year career with Cleveland. In 980 games with them, he has 163 home runs, 540 RBIs, and a .278 batting average. Besides being a three-time All-Star, he also has three Silver Slugger Awards, made the 30-30 club in 2018, and was named to the All-MLB Second Team in 2020.
This is a fantastic day for the Guardians, as all the trade rumors that were surrounding Ramirez can finally disappear. The superstar third baseman will be staying in Cleveland!
