Braves Reliever Has Tommy John Surgery
Earlier this month, there was the belief that Atlanta Braves reliever Luke Jackson would need to have Tommy John surgery. Now, the team has announced that the veteran reliever has officially had it.
This is hard to hear, as Jackson just had himself a fantastic season with the Braves in 2021. In 71 appearances, he sported a 2-2 record and 1.98 ERA. Although there was no guarantee that he could have replicated those totals in 2022, the team would obviously love to have him in their bullpen right now.
In 253 career games between the Texas Rangers and Braves, Jackson has a 16-6 record and 4.24 ERA. Time will tell when the veteran will be able to build on these numbers, but due to the recovery time of this surgery, his season is expected to be over.
Nevertheless, here's to hoping everything goes well with Jackson, and he's able to return to the mound in the future.
