Athletics Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The Oakland Athletics have claimed Domingo Tapia off waivers from the Kansas City Royals.

Tapia will begin his time with the organization as a member of Oakland's Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators. Yet, it also wouldn't be too surprising to see him land an eventual call-up to the major league team as the year progresses.

Tapia has made appearances in the majors over each of the last two seasons. In 39 career games between the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Royals, he has a 4-1 record, 2.61 ERA, and 30 strikeouts. Overall, when called upon, he certainly has had some solid moments. Let's see if he's able to keep this trend up as a member of the A's.
