Astros Veteran Infielder Suffers Hamstring Injury
Jose Altuve, the veteran second baseman for the Houston Astros, suffered a left hamstring strain in last night's win against the Los Angeles Angels.
The injury occurred in the eighth inning, when Altuve hit an infield single and ran routinely to first base. But, as he darted past the base, Altuve came up limping and fell to the ground in obvious pain.

Altuve is listed as day-to-day currently, and is scheduled to have an MRI to determine the severity of the injury and how long it will keep him out of action for.
When asked about how he was feeling, Altuve mentioned that he was "feeling better", but that he will wait to see what the MRI tests say and that "hopefully everything's fine and it's not anything crazy".

This is not the first time Altuve has suffered a left hamstring sprain, as the same injury occurred back in 2019, which landed him on the 10-day Injured List.
Altuve has had a rough start to the 2022 season thus far, sporting a lowly batting average of .167, with just one home run and three RBIs through nine games.
Last season was a nice bounce back year for the former AL MVP winner, and so it will be an intriguing storyline to see if he can get back to that caliber of play this season, whenever he is able to return from this latest injury.
