Angels Reliever Announces His Retirement
Last week, it was announced that Los Angeles Angels pitcher AJ Ramos' 2022 season was over before it started. The 35-year-old sustained a torn capsule in his shoulder and due to this, he is now calling it a career.
Ramos has dealt with serious injury trouble over the last three seasons, as he appeared in seven games. With that, he did not pitch a single inning during the 2019 campaign, but he always aimed to overcome his injuries and return to the mound. Yet, due to the severity of his current injury, he no longer can do that.
Overall, Ramos had himself a solid career as a reliever. In 381 career games between the Miami Marlins, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, and Angels, he had a 17-18 record, 3.04 ERA, and 99 saves. With that, he was an All-Star during the 2016 season.
Nevertheless, it's a shame that Ramos has to retire under these circumstances. Even with this being so, he had a very good career and should hold his head up high.
