11-Year Veteran Announces Retirement
Longtime MLB reliever Tony Watson has officially announced his retirement.
Watson's career ends with an impressive 11 years of service time. In 689 career games between the Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and Los Angeles Angels, Watson had a 47-29 record, 2.90 ERA, and 570 strikeouts. With that, he also was an All-Star during the 2014 campaign.
Watson's final year in the bigs happened in 2021. He was still quite serviceable, too, as he had a 7-4 record and 3.92 ERA in 62 games between the Angels and Giants. Yet, he also had more success in his return to SF, as he had a solid 2.96 ERA coming out of the 'pen.
Nevertheless, congrats on a very good career, Tony!
