Twins Sign Superstar Shortshop

The Minnesota Twins have emerged as the winners of the Carlos Correa sweepstakes. They have signed the superstar shortstop to a three-year, $105 million contract. The deal also comes with opt-out clauses after its first and second seasons.

This certainly is a surprising landing spot for Correa, as several other teams seemed to express interest in the 27-year-old for a much longer period of time. However, Minnesota is now the team that has landed him.

Correa will be looking to build off of his All-Star 2021 season now in Minnesota. In 148 games, he had 26 home runs, 92 RBIs, and a .279 batting average. Overall, it was another excellent campaign for the star, and there's no reason why he can't replicate it. He's been this good throughout the entirety of his career.

In 752 career games with the Astros, Correa has 133 home runs, 489 RBIs, and a .277 batting average. With that, he's a two-time All-Star, one-time Gold Glove winner, and one-time World Series winner. Overall, his immense experience and strong resume will make him a very good addition to Minnesota.
