“The last couple years have sucked!": Bad Injury Blow To Red Sox Rotation
After finally getting back on the mound last season after nearly two years recovering from Tommy John, Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale has now gone down with a rib cage fracture.
There is no timetable for his return, though the BoSox say it will be "weeks" not days. Sale, himself, is at a loss:
Sale: “I don’t have any idea” how long it will be before he can pitch in games. “The last couple years have sucked…What can you do?”

“I don’t have any idea” how long it will be before he can pitch in games, said Sale. “The last couple years have sucked…What can you do?”
Sale made it back to the mound for nine starts last season after his TJ recovery, and finished with a 5-1 mark and a 3.16 ERA. His performance in the playoffs was more spotty.
The 32-year-old is a 7-time All-Star, and has finished Top Six in Cy Young voting seven times.
Without Sale available, a rotation spot has likely opened up for impressive youngster Tanner Houck.
