Tampa Bay Rays Sign Pitcher

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Robert Dugger to a minor league contract.

Dugger has spent time in the majors over each of the last three seasons but has yet to cement himself a permanent spot in the league. In 12 appearances with the Seattle Mariners last season, he had a 0-2 record and 7.36 ERA. Needless to say, it wasn't the best of showings for the 26-year-old, but he will be looking to change that in 2022 with Tampa Bay.

Dugger has experience as both a starter and reliever. With Triple-A Tacoma last season, he was the former but did have some struggles in the process. In 15 appearances, he sported a 4-5 record, 6.10 ERA, and 64 strikeouts. Thus, whether he is in the majors or minors, he will be aiming to turn things around this campaign.

In 23 games played between the Miami Marlins and Mariners, Dugger has a 0-6 record and 7.39 ERA.
