Tampa Bay Rays Sign Pitcher
The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Luke Bard.
Bard last pitched in the majors during the 2020 season with the Los Angeles Angels six appearances with the team, he had a 6.75 ERA and seven strikeouts. Overall, it's clear that he did struggle when called about that year, but he will now be looking to improve with the Rays in 2022.
In general, Bard has struggled at the major league level thus far. In 46 career appearances with the Angels, he has a 3-3 record, 5.05 ERA, and 60 strikeouts. Nothing about those numbers are particularly impressive, but the 31-year-old has time to change that. If he impresses at Spring Training, he could even make Tampa Bay's bullpen at the start of the year.
Nevertheless, the Rays are never afraid to take a chance on a pitcher, so let's see if they have found another gem in Bard.
