St. Louis Cardinals Sign Pitcher
The St. Louis Cardinals have signed Blake Parker to a minor league contract. With that, he also has been invited to attend Spring Training with the team.
Although this is a minor league deal for Parker, he certainly has a shot to make St. Louis' major league roster. Over the last two seasons, he signed minor league contracts with the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland and made their rosters. With that, he pitched well with the latter last season, as he had a 2-1 record and 3.09 ERA in 47 appearances.
Parker's strong amount of overall experience should also help his case to earn a job with the Cardinals. In 350 career appearances between the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, Minnesota Twins, Phillies, and Cleveland, he has a 16-11 record, 3.47 ERA, and 383 strikeouts.
Nevertheless, don't be surprised to see Parker pitching with the Cardinals in 2022.
