Rockies And Blue Jays Complete Trade
The Colorado Rockies have acquired Randal Grichuk from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Raimel Tapia and prospect Adrian Pinto.
Grichuk will provide the Rockies with a bit more pop in their lineup. In 149 games this past season with Toronto, the 30-year-old outfielder had 22 home runs, 81 RBIs, and a .241 batting average. He has shown in the past that he can be a real power threat, and his 31 home runs in 2019 show that perfectly. Thus, he could have a lot of fun at Coors Field.
In 133 games this season with the Rockies, Tapia had six home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .273 batting average. Although he doesn't hit as well for power as Grichuk, he does very well hitting for contact. Keep in mind, he had a .321 batting average in 51 games during the 2020 season, too.
Overall, both teams are getting a good player in this deal. It will be intriguing to see how each responds to their change of scenery.
