Reds Sign Veteran Reliever
The Cincinnati Reds have signed Hunter Strickland to a major league contract.
The 2021 season was a very eventful one for Strickland, as he spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels, and Milwaukee Brewers. Besides his rough nine-game stretch with the Angels, he had himself a very strong regular season. In 57 appearances, he sported a 3-2 record, 2.61 ERA, and 58 strikeouts.
Strickland will also provide the Reds with a proven major league reliever. In 342 career appearances between the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Rays, Angels, and Brewers, he has a 19-18 record and 3.11 ERA.
Although the Reds have primarily let players go this offseason, they are adding a solid one in Strickland. Let's see how the 33-year-old does with his new club.
