Reds Sign Versatile Veteran
The Cincinnati Reds have a lot of exiled talent to replace. After watching Nick Castellanos leave as a free agent, and trading the likes of Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez, the Reds have signed versatile veteran infielder Brandon Drury.
Newest Reds player to arrive in the clubhouse: utility man Brandon Drury. He played with the Mets in 2021.

In a 7-year career with four different teams, Drury has played every position on the diamond except catcher and center field. Second and third are his most natural positions.
After establishing himself as a decent performer in his first three years in the majors with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the New York Yankees traded for Drury in 2018, hoping he would be their starting 3B. But he was hit with dizziness and severe migraines, and was only able to play 26 games that entire season, and the Yankees shipped him to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Drury spent a couple of unproductive years north of the border, before landing with the New York Mets last season. He batted .274 with four HR in 88 at-bats for the Mets.
He likely won't have a full-time role with the Reds, who have Jonathan India locked in at 2B, and Mike Moustakas slotted in at 3B. But the team is short on veteran depth in the infield, so Drury has a chance to stick if he can perform over the next couple of weeks in spring training.
