Rays And Cubs Complete Trade
The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired Harold Ramirez from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Esteban Quiroz.
Although Ramirez was dealt from the Cubs, he actually never even played a game for the team. That's because he was traded to Chicago by the Cleveland Guardians earlier this offseason. Alas, he will now be spending the 2022 campaign with the Rays instead.
In 99 games last season with Cleveland, Ramirez had seven home runs, 41 RBIs, and a .268 batting average. Overall, it was a pretty solid season for the 27-year-old, and he will now be aiming to carry that over to Tampa Bay. With the team, he will provide them with another decent outfield option.
Quiroz is coming off of a solid year in Triple-A, so it will be interesting to see if he could make Chicago's roster from here. In 72 games on the year, he had 14 home runs, 57 RBIs, and a .276 batting average.
