Phillies Land Nick Castellanos
In their second huge free agent coup of the week, the Philadelphia Phillies have landed outfielder Nick Castellanos. It's a 5-year, $100M deal.
Bryce Harper was a big factor in Phillies recruitment and signing of Castellanos. Phillies president Dave Dombrowski had Castellanos in Detroit and has now remade their lineup.

As noted by MLB Insider Jon Heyman, Phillies superstar Bryce Harper was a huge factor in the recruitment of Castellanos, just as he was with their other massive free agent signing this week, Kyle Schwarber.
With those three, combined with JT Realmuto and Rhys Hoskins, the Phillies have put together what will be one of the most feared lineups in the league. A lineup that will give them a chance to compete in the uber-competitive NL East, which also features the re-loaded World Series champion Atlanta Braves, along with the much improved New York Mets.
The 30-year-old Castellanos registered 34 home runs and 100 RBIs with the Cincinnati Reds in 2021, to put himself among the top sluggers in the game.
