New York Mets Sign Outfielder
The New York Mets have signed Johneshwy Fargas to a minor league contract.
Fargas actually made his major league debut with the Mets last season. In seven games, he had zero home runs, three RBIs, and a .286 batting average. However, his time with the team ended last July when they designated him for assignment. From here, he was claimed by the Chicago Cubs and played 15 games with the team.
Fargas is known for his quick speed, so that could help him get some chances with the major league team this upcoming season. From 2018 to 2021 in the minors, he had an impressive 114 stolen bases. Thus, the center fielder could be a prime candidate to be a pinch-runner for the Mets. Yet, he will have to impress the Mets during Spring Training to earn himself a job. When seeing as how he did just last season, perhaps he can again.
Although Fargas only played a handful of games with the Mets last season, he is a familiar face who will provide them with more depth in the outfield. Thus, what's to hate about this signing?
