MLB Rumors: Trevor Story Down To A Final Four

Free agent Trevor Story had been adamant he is not moving off shortstop. He even turned down multiple $100M offers to play another position. But today we're learning that he might be easing off on that stance, and that four teams are in advanced talks.

MLB Insider Jon Heyman lists the San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox among the Final Four, with two others in the mix as well. Heyman notes that Story is "considering a short-term positional move, if necessary."

But if staying at short is still an issue, according to MLB Insiders Steve Phillips, Eduardo Perez and Jim Bowden of MLB Network Radio, the Minnesota Twins are "in a prime position" to land him.

The Twins are able to move Jorge Polanco back to second base to accommodate Story at short. In Boston, he'd have to move to 2nd base. In Seattle, who were in talks with Story earlier, he'd be asked to play 3B. The fit with San Francisco is unknown, as they do have the newly-extended Brandon Crawford at short.

Sounds like a decision is coming soon.
