MLB Rumors: Texas Wanted To Reunite Seager Brothers
Apparently, one Seager wasn't enough for the Texas Rangers. After signing Corey Seager to a massive $325M contract to play shortstop, the Rangers tried to get his older brother, the now-retired Kyle Seager, to join him.
The Rangers inquired whether Kyle Seager wanted to reverse his retirement and team with his brother Corey on the left side of their infield. Kyle, who hit 35 home runs last season and is only 34, declined, saying he was happily doing chores at home. Would have been very cool!

MLB Insider Jon Heyman reports that the Rangers "inquired whether Kyle Seager wanted to reverse his retirement and team with his brother Corey on the left side of their infield." The Rangers still have an opening at third base, and Kyle could have lined up next to his younger bro.
Kyle spent 11 years as the Seattle Mariners third baseman, and retired after the season at the age of 34. He went out on a high of sorts, with the best power numbers of his career, blasting 35 home runs, along with 101 RBIs, both personal bests. But he's struggled to make consistent contact the last few seasons, batting only .212 last season, and hasn't been above .250 since 2016.
Nevertheless, he certainly could have been an upgrade for the Rangers at 3B, but despite their attempts, Corey's older brother is staying retired.
