MLB Rumors: Star DH To Have New Home Shortly

According to Jon Heyman, Nelson Cruz is expected to sign his next contract by Sunday.

With the National League officially having DHs starting this season, Cruz will have a plethora of takers. This is exactly why a new deal is on the way, and it will be quite interesting to see where the 41-year-old will be playing from here.

Even though he is getting older, Cruz is still an immensely effective hitter at the major league level. In 140 games this season past season between the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays, he had 32 home runs, 86 RBIs, and a .265 batting average. With that, he also was named to his seventh All-Star Game, so it's easy to see why so many teams want to bring him in.

In 1,882 career games between the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, Twins, and Rays, he has 449 home runs, 1,238 RBIs, and a .277 batting average. It's been a great career for Cruz, and it will funbe  to see how many home runs he has this time around.
