MLB Rumors: Potential Correa Return "Creating Buzz" In Astros Camp

As Carlos Correa's options on the free agent market have continued to diminish, he's been looking more and more at a return to the Houston Astros. And according to MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal, that's "creating a buzz" around Astros camp.

"The Astros plan to make a new offer shortly", and “players can’t stop talking about it,” one source told Rosenthal. In fact, according to ESPN's Marly Rivera, "multiple Astros players have reached out to ownership and have been extremely vocal about bringing back Carlos Correa."

This follows our report yesterday that Correa is now considering signing a one-year, high AAV deal, or a medium-term contract with an opt-out after one year.

Correa changed agents during the lockout, possibly upset that he wasn't able to cash in on one of the massive long-term contracts like some of his fellow free agents (Corey Seager, Marcus Semien) signed.

Now, it's in the hands of new agent Scott Boras, who doesn't like taking no for an answer. And with most of Correa's previous suitors making other plans for shortstop this season, he's now gone back to the one team that's definitely saying 'yes' — for the right term.

Correa has spent his entire 7-year career in Houston, and his 'bad boy' image is, let's face it, perfectly suited for the Astros.
