The Cardinals obviously stand out, as that is of course where Pujols began his Hall of Fame career and had his most success. Yet, Colorado could also be a fantastic option for him, as it is a home run hitter's paradise at Coors Field. When seeing as how he is only 21 home runs away from reaching his 700th, they certainly could be a destination he will consider.
However, with the NL officially having DHs, it will be interesting to see if even more teams enter the sweepstakes. In 109 games last season between the Angels and Dodgers, Pujols had 17 home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .236 batting average. Don't let the low average fool you, however, as he ended the year very strongly after joining the Dodgers. He still has more left in the tank.
Alas, don't be surprised to see Pujols find a new home shortly. Here's to hoping he hits 700 career home runs in 2022.
