MLB Rumors: Blue Jays And Athletics Talking Blockbuster

According to Jon Morosi, the Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays are having deep discussions about a blockbuster centering around Matt Chapman.

Morosi also has noted that Carlos Baerga has reported that a trade between both parties has been agreed upon. However, there has yet to be full confirmation.

The Athletics have already begun their fire sale, as they have traded veterans like Matt Olson and Chris Bassitt. Sean Manaea and Frankie Montas are expected to be dealt shortly, too. Now, Chapman could very well be heading to Toronto if Morosi and Baerga's reports are accurate.

If the Blue Jays land Chapman, they will be getting another strong power-bat in their lineup and fantastic fielder. In 151 games last season, he had 27 home runs, 72 RBIs, and a .210 batting average.
