MLB Rumors: Athletics To Trade This Pitcher Next
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Oakland Athletics are focusing their efforts on trading Sean Manaea. With that, he noted that they are still debating what to do with Frankie Montas.
Oakland has begun their fire sale in a big way, as they already have traded Matt Chapman, Matt Olson, and Chris Bassitt since the lockout has been lifted. Manaea and Montas have also been dominating the rumor mill, but now we have clarification that the former should have a new home first.
In 32 starts this past season, Manaea had an 11-10 record and 3.91 ERA. He has been getting a lot of interest around the league, and when looking at these numbers, it's easy to understand why. He has the ability to be a very solid number two or three pitcher in a rotation, so it will be intriguing to see who ends up landing him.
Nevertheless, keep an eye on the Manaea sweepstakes. It appears to be heating up.
