MLB Rumors: 5 Teams In Pursuit of World Series MVP Soler

When the Atlanta Braves brought in Jorge Soler for some outfield depth in the middle of last season, with his .192 average, there weren't too many people taking the "Soler for World Series MVP" prop bet. But that's exactly how it played out for the powerful Cuban last October. Now, after an otherwise spotty 8-year career, he's ready to cash in. And five teams are said to be bidding for the free agent's services.

According to Hector Gomez and Mike Deportes, both Spanish-language MLB Insiders, the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Miami Marlins are in talks with Soler.

It might seem that the Marlins are swimming in waters a bit too deep with the likes of the Dodgers, Red Sox and large-spending Rangers, they do have three things going for them: location, location, location.

With Miami being just about a one-hour flight from his hometown of Havana, Soler may have some interest. The Marlins were serious bidders for the Cuban phenom when he came to the majors as a 20-year-old ten years ago.

But the Fish could have a tough time out-bidding the others if they're really interested.
