Minnesota Twins Sign Pitcher
The Minnesota Twins are not done making moves, as they now have signed Joe Smith.
Smith spent the 2021 season with Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. With Houston, he struggled mightily, as he had a 1-1 record and 7.48 ERA in 27 appearances. However, after moving on to Seattle, he thrived, as he sported an impressive 2.00 ERA in 23 games and looked more like his former self. He will be looking to replicate that kind of performance with the Twins from here.
Smith will provide the Twins with an extremely experienced reliever. The soon-to-be 38-year-old has 14 years of major league play under his belt. In a whopping 832 career games between the New York Mets, Cleveland, Los Angeles Angels, Chicago Cubs, Toronto Blue Jays, Astros, and Mariners, he has a 54-33 record, 3.09 ERA, and 649 strikeouts.
Nevertheless, Minnesota is continuing to strengthen its roster and should not be done just yet.
