Los Angeles Angels Re-Sign Reliever
The Los Angeles Angels are bringing back AJ Ramos on a minor league contract. He also has been invited to attend Spring Training with the team.
Ramos was a part of the Angels' organization last season but primarily pitched in the minors. However, in his four appearances with Los Angeles on the year, he did not allow a run in 4.2 innings pitched and had three strikeouts. Thus, he left a good impression in his limited work. Now, he will be hoping to land a spot on the major league roster to build on it.
Ramos has a lot of experience in the majors and even was an All-Star during the 2016 season. In 381 appearances between the Miami Marlins, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, and Angels, he has a 17-18 record, 3.04 ERA, and 430 strikeouts. Overall, the 35-year-old has had a pretty strong career. Let's see if he can build on it this campaign with the Angels.
Nevertheless, this is a low-risk signing from the Angels.
