Kansas City Royals Sign Pitcher
The Kansas City Royals have signed Brad Peacock to a minor league contract.
Peacock appeared in just two major league games this season with the Boston Red Sox. In them, he had a 0-1 record, 15.19 ERA, and three strikeouts. Although he struggled, it's apparent that the sample size was far too small for harsh judgment. The 34-year-old will be looking rebound in 2022 and earn himself a spot on the Royals.
When looking at his immense amount of major league experience, there's a good chance he could earn himself a job. In 183 appearances between the Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, and Red Sox, he has a 34-31 record, 4.11 ERA, and 590 strikeouts. His 2017 campaign was particularly impressive, however, as he went 13-2 and had a 3.00 ERA as a starter for Houston.
It will be interesting to see if Peacock is able to get his career back on track. He last pitched at the major league level with any real sense of regularity back in 2019. Now, he will be looking to change that, and, joining a rebuilding team like Kansas City could help with that.
