Houston Astros Sign Outfielder
The Houston Astros have signed Lewis Brinson to a minor league contract. He will also be joining the team for Spring Training.
Although Brinson has signed a minor league deal, there's a good chance that he could land himself a spot on the major league roster. He has played in the majors in each of the last five seasons and has gotten into a good amount of action with that. During the 2021 season with the Miami Marlins specifically, Brinson had nine home runs, 33 RBIs, and a .226 batting average.
In 341 career games between the Milwaukee Brewers and Marlins, Brinson has 25 home runs, 105 RBIs, and a .199 batting average.
With this move, the Astros have added more depth to their outfield at a minimum. He certainly could be an extra outfielder for them at the major league level, but he will first have to impress them at Spring Training.
