Giants Sign 2-Time World Series Champ: "He's A Goofball...With A Knack For Clutch HR"

If the San Francisco Giants are hoping to get back to the playoffs, they can't go wrong bringing in a player who is known for his playoff feats. They've signed Joc Pederson to a one-year, $6M contract.

Pederson has been to the postseason seven consecutive years, has won two World Series (with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020 and the Atlanta Braves in 2021), and is so known for his October exploits, he's earned the nickname 'Joctober'.

Another big-time left-handed bat for the Giants, adding to their slew of lefties they already have.

Pederson's new teammate, and good friend, Brandon Crawford, is thrilled to have him join the clubhouse.

“He’s a goofball (who) enjoys having fun, and it shows with how he plays the game,” Crawford said via text. “He definitely lightens up a dugout or clubhouse. And along with that, he’s a pretty good baseball player with a knack for hitting homers in clutch situations.”

Pederson is the ultimate platoon bat, with a lifetime .832 OPS, and some huge postseason HRs, against right-handers. If things go according to plan, it could be a fun 'Joctober' for the Giants.
