Giants Outfielder To Miss Beginning Of Season
On Tuesday, it was already announced that Evan Longoria would miss the beginning of the season for the San Francisco Giants. Now, the injury bug has returned yet again, as LaMonte Wade Jr. will be on the injured list for the beginning of the season.
Wade Jr. is currently dealing with inflammation and a bone bruise in his knee. As a result of this, team doctors have recommended he rest for 10 days. After this, he will be reevaluated. With the Giants playing their first game of the season on April 8th, Wade Jr. is officially ruled out because of this development.
Wade Jr. had a breakout season with the Giants last year, as he had 18 home runs, 56 RBIs, and a .253 batting average. With this, he went on to win the Willie Mac Award. With all of this, many fans are excited to see how the 28-year-old responds to his strong 2021 season. Yet, due to this unfortunate injury, his season debut will now be put on pause.
Here's to hoping Wade Jr. will be able to return to the field as soon as he is reevaluated. Time will tell on that front.
