Dodgers Manager Calls Hit Shot, Predicts World Series Win in 2022
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is confident as can be with his ball club. So confident in fact, the Dodgers skipper doesn't seen any team being able to keep up to LA in the postseason and Roberts is predicting a World Series title.
Sky-high expectations would be an understatement as Roberts certainly isn't backing away from his bold statement. He was recently a guest on the Dan Patrick Show and had this to say about what he expects to see from his ball club:
We are winning the World Series this year, put it on record. We are winning the World Series if our starting staff stays healthy.
Well, which one is it Mr Roberts? Injuries and the timeliness of being fully healthy for the postseason is certainly one of the most important aspects of success in the big leagues. The Dodgers lost a boat load of talent to free agency but made perhaps the biggest splash of all, signing Freddie Freeman to a monster six-year deal.
As for the Dodgers rotation that needs to stay healthy, they're lead by left-handed legend Clayton Kershaw, along with Tyler Anderson, Andrew Heaney, Walker Buehler, Julio Urias, Tony Gonsolin and David Price. You can never have enough starters and we'll see which five Roberts settles for early on this season.
Sure, the Dodgers are favorites to compete for the World Series title, but the outright favorites? According to Roberts, good luck beating his team.
