Dodgers Bring Back Reliever
It appears that the Los Angeles Dodgers have re-signed Jimmy Nelson. He has attended Spring Training with the team, but an official contract has yet to be announced.
Nelson is expected to miss a good portion of this campaign, as he had Tommy John Surgery and flexor repair surgery last summer. Given the nature of those two surgeries, he naturally has a good amount of rehabbing left to do.
Nelson pitched very well with the Dodgers last season, though. In 28 appearances, he sported a 1-2 record, 1.86 ERA, and 44 strikeouts. He was having the best season of his career by far, but it was sadly taken away from him before it was completed.
In 147 appearances between the Milwaukee Brewers and Dodgers, Nelson has a 34-48 record, 4.12 ERA, and 622 strikeouts. He also has started in 108 of those, but due to the injury trouble he has had over the years, he likely will remain in LA's bullpen once he returns.
