Dodgers Add To Their Outfield

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Kevin Pillar to a minor league contract. If he makes the team, he will make $2.5 million for the season.

Pillar spent the 2021 season with the New York Mets, where he had 15 home runs, 47 RBIs, and a .231 batting average. His average was certainly lower than the majority of his career, but he did have some decent moments when it came to his power.

Pillar comes with an immense amount of overall experience, so that should help his chances of making the major league club. In 1,029 career games between the Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, and Mets, he has 97 home runs, 391 RBIs, and a .260 batting average. He will now be aiming to build on those numbers with LA.

Overall, this could be a pretty strong signing for the Dodgers if Pillar can find his previous form. Let's see what happens from here.
