Diamondbacks Sign Starting Pitcher
The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed Zach Davies to a one-year contract.
With the Diamondbacks, Davies will be looking to bounce back from a rather disappointing season. In 32 starts with the Chicago Cubs, he had a 6-12 record and 5.78 ERA. Yet, there is reason to believe that he could rebound in 2022, as he had a 7-4 record and 2.73 ERA with the San Diego Padres the season before.
Davies will be competing for a spot in the bottom half of the Diamondbacks' rotation from here. If he can regain some of his previous form, he could end up being a very solid addition to Arizona.
In 155 career games between the Milwaukee Brewers, Padres, and Cubs, Davies has a 56-48 record, 4.14 ERA, and 611 strikeouts. It will be interesting to see if the 29-year-old can put together a strong year with the D-Backs from here.
