Cubs Sign Manager To Extension
The Chicago Cubs have signed David Ross to a contract extension that will last until after the 2024 season. With that, it also has a club option for the 2025 campaign.
The 2022 season was the final guaranteed year of his contract, but it's also important to note that he had a club option for 2023. Now with this extension, he of course is guaranteed to coach that campaign and more.
Since taking over as manager of the Cubs in 2020, Ross sports a 105-117 record. The 2021 campaign was of course a rough one for Chicago, as they went 71-91 and traded away multiple former core members. Yet, they still have immense trust in Ross clearly, as he has earned this contract and will manage them through their current rebuild.
Ross also was a part of the team's historic 2016 World Series championship team, so he understandably is well-respected throughout the organization. It will be interesting to see how the team performs from here under Ross' leadership.
