Cubs Sign Another Pitcher
The Chicago Cubs are staying very busy, as they now have signed Daniel Norris to a major league contract.
After having a 3-1 record and 3.25 ERA with the Detroit Tigers in 2020, Norris struggled noticeably last season. In 56 appearances between the Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers, he had a 2-3 record, 6.16 ERA, and 58 strikeouts. Yet, the new year offers a clean slate, and he will now be aiming to bounce back with the Cubs from here.
It is understandable why the Cubs are taking a chance on Norris. He has a lot of overall experience over his career and has had a handful of strong campaigns. In 167 appearances between the Toronto Blue Jays, Tigers, and Brewers, he has a 20-34 record and 4.65 ERA.
Although this is a bit of a minor move, one has to admire how the Cubs are staying busy this offseason. It also feels like they aren't done yet, so definitely keep a close on them.
