Cincinnati Reds Sign Infielder
The Cincinnati Reds have signed JT Riddle to a minor league contract.
Riddle played four games with the Minnesota Twins this season, where he had two hits in six at-bats. Overall, his action at the major league was very limited in 2021, but he will be hoping for that to change this campaign with the Reds.
Riddle has the potential to be a solid utility player for the Reds if he ends up making their roster. Besides being able to play shortstop, he also can man center field and third base if needed, too. That, in turn, provides the Reds with multiple options regarding him.
In 250 career games between the Miami Marlins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Twins, Riddle has 19 home runs, 80 RBIs, and a .223 batting average. Overall, his numbers in the majors haven't been amazing, but he has time to change that.
