Cincinnati Reds Sign Infielder
The Cincinnati Reds have signed Colin Moran to a one-year, $1 million contract.
This could end up being a nice value signing for the Reds. In 99 games last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Moran had 10 home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .258 batting average. Although he was not necessarily dominant, he did have plenty of solid moments throughout the season. He will now be aiming to carry over this kind of success to the Reds.
Moran will offer solid versatility to the Reds, too. The 29-year-old is able to play both third base and first base. He also could be utilized at DH, so it's clear that the Reds have plenty of options for the veteran infielder.
In 460 career games between the Houston Astros and Pirates, Moran has 45 home runs, 216 RBIs, and a .267 batting average.
