Chicago Cubs Add To Their Bullpen
The Chicago Cubs have signed Mychal Givens to a one-year, $5 million contract.
The Cubs are continuing to remain as one of the busiest teams this offseason. They have landed themselves a solid reliever in Givens, and he is coming off of another reliable campaign. In 54 appearances between the Colorado Rockies and Cincinnati Reds, he sported a 4-3 record, 3.35 ERA, and 54 strikeouts. Overall, he once again put together a solid year and will be aiming to carry that over to the Cubs.
It's clear that the Cubs are looking to be better than last season with all of the signings they have made. Although Givens is not as big of a name as Seiya Suzuki or Jonathan Villar, he is still a good addition, too.
In 360 career appearances between the Baltimore Orioles, Rockies, and Reds, Givens has a 25-20 record and 3.41 ERA.
