Cardinals Sign Veteran Outfielder
The St. Louis Cardinals have signed Corey Dickerson to a one-year, $5 million contract.
Dickerson spent the 2021 season between the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays. In 109 total games, he had six home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .271 batting average. Overall, he put together a pretty decent campaign at the plate and should get a good amount of playing time for the Cardinals because of it.
Dickerson also comes with a lot of overall experience, too. In 937 career games between the Colorado Rockies, Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, Marlins, and Blue Jays, he has 128 home runs, 416 RBIs, and a .283 batting average. With that, he also was an All-Star in 2017 and has a Gold Glove on his resume.
Overall, this has the potential to be a very solid signing for the Cardinals. His set salary is affordable and he has the ability to provide a little bit of everything. Let's see how the veteran performs from here.
