Brewers Sign Former MVP
The Milwaukee Brewers are set to sign veteran outfielder Andrew McCutchen.
McCutchen had himself a bit of a down year with the Philadelphia Phillies last season but was still effective at the plate. Although he sported a .222 batting average, he also had a respectable 27 home runs and 80 RBIs. If he is able to hit for contact a bit better with Milwaukee, this could end up being a very solid signing for them.
McCutchen of course also comes with a vast amount of overall experience. In 1,761 career games between the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, and Phillies, he has 270 home runs, 933 RBIs, and a .280 batting average. With that, he is a five-time All-Star, Gold Glove winner, and most notably was NL MVP in 2013.
Nevertheless, the Brewers have added a new leader to their roster. Let's see how the 35-year-old does from here.
